Concert Choir: Concert Choir is a large, SATB vocal ensemble performing a variety of diverse repertoire. Students explore choral music from early Renaissance through Modern compositions. Students hone skills in vocal technique including breath management, phonation, vowel continuity, and posture. In addition, students will develop sight-singing and aural skills. Each and every member of Concert Choir is valued and essential to the success and enjoyment of the ensemble. Concert Choir is open to any student with an ability to match pitch and sing four part harmony at the high school level.
Select Vocal Ensembles
Madrigals: Madrigals is an SATB advanced vocal ensemble performing a variety of diverse repertoire. Students will advance skills in vocal technique, breath management, phonation, vowel continuity, sight-singing and sound quality. Madrigals is an intensive and highly selective ensemble performing advanced repertoire with a rigorous performance schedule during the fall semester. Madrigals is offered during the fall semester only. Audition criteria are presented to the students in January for the following school year in Concert Choir.
Treble Ensemble: Treble Ensemble is an advanced treble vocal ensemble performing a variety of diverse SSAA repertoire. Students will advance skills in vocal technique, breath management, phonation, vowel continuity, sight-singing and sound quality. Treble Ensemble is an intensive and highly selective ensemble performing advanced repertoire with a rigorous performance schedule during the spring semester. Treble Ensemble is offered during the spring semester only. Audition criteria are presented to the students in January in choir classes.
Honor Choir: Honor Choir combines current members of Madrigals with those students who have successfully been accepted into the ensemble for the following school year. This chamber ensemble performs in the Spring Concert only.
