Visit the JNC
The Jarrett Nature Center is located on Hatters Way between Hatboro-Horsham High School and Simmons Elementary School. It sits diagonally across from the football stadium. You may park in the lot next to the Jarrett Dairy Barn with the JNC mural (now the operations building) or in either of the adjacent high school parking lots and follow the trail to get to our class area.
Trails are open daily from dawn to dusk. After heavy rain, there can be some muddy areas along the trails so please dress accordingly.
There is a porta-potty available between the JNC and varsity baseball field. More restrooms can be found at the football stadium when open.
Please leave dogs at home (except for service dogs). This is for the health and safety of our students and the wildlife at the nature center. We cannot risk our students stepping in dog waste that was accidentally left behind.
Leave no trace!
Please stay on designated trails and avoid trampling through vegetated areas.
Leave what you find. Do not collect or harvest any native plants or any animals. Allow others a sense of discovery by leaving rocks, plants, and other objects of interest as you find them.
Pack it in, pack it out. Please be sure to take any trash or recycling home with you or dispose in the trash cans by the sheds.
Avoid introducing or transporting non-native species.
Observe wildlife from a distance. Do not follow or approach them. Do not feed them or leave food out for them (exceptions made for the bird feeders set up by the sheds).
Smoking/vaping, alcohol, and drugs are not permitted on school property.
