Acclaimed Composer Tyler Arcari Visits Keith Valley
Keith Valley recently welcomed composer Tyler Arcari for a special Q&A session with 7th and 8th-grade Performing Arts students. They had the opportunity to engage with the renowned musician, discussing composition techniques and, of course, video games.
Arcari has performed works around the world and is known for creating music for developing musicians. He is a former middle and high school teacher and currently serves as the Director of Music Production and Editing at several prestigious publishing companies, including Excelcia Music Publishing.
This visit offered students valuable insights into music careers and composition from an industry professional.

Huge congratulations to 6th grader Maia Mathai 📚✨ Maia took first place in the Scripps Bux-Mont Regional Spelling Bee this weekend, proving she's a spelling superstar! 🌟
Next stop: National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC, this May! We are so proud of Maia and can't wait to see her represent HHSD on the national stage.
🧦 CELEBRATING WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY 🧦
What an incredible day we had yesterday celebrating World Down Syndrome Day at HHSD! Our amazing students and staff made the "Rock Your Socks" event a tremendous success.
The students and staff embraced this special day by creating colorful posters that highlighted the importance of World Down Syndrome Day. They hosted a fun sock sale, with proceeds supporting Down Syndrome awareness, and partnered with Simmons to assist with their pretzel sale fundraiser. They also walked around the high school and KV, capturing photos with everyone showing off their wildly mismatched socks!
Thank you to all our students and staff who participated and to everyone who showed their support by wearing their brightest, most colorful mismatched socks.
Remember, World Down Syndrome Day isn't just about one day—it's about fostering a more inclusive community every day.
STEM Week Continues...
In Robotics, students design, build, and program autonomous systems that respond to real-world inputs. These intricate creations demonstrate their mastery of mechanical design, electronics, and computer programming principles.
Architecture 1 students develop innovative structural designs, carefully balancing aesthetic appeal with practical functionality. Their detailed models and blueprints showcase spatial reasoning and design thinking as they create spaces that solve specific problems.
Engineering Drawing & Design students are exercising their creativity through free design projects this semester. With professional-grade tools and software, they're transforming conceptual ideas into precisely rendered technical drawings and 3D models ready for production.
STEM Week gives us the perfect opportunity to showcase the incredible things happening at HHSD. These projects represent just a glimpse of the innovation, creativity, and technical skills our students demonstrate every day. We're proud to be developing the next generation of problem-solvers, creators, and engineers who will shape our future.
STEM Week continues with a visit to Keith Valley Middle School's STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) classes.
6th-grade budding engineers are designing and testing roller coaster prototypes, applying physics concepts while developing creative solutions to complex design challenges.
In 7th grade, students are designing prototypes of sustainable shoes, combining environmental consciousness with practical design principles to reimagine footwear for a greener future.
Meanwhile, our 8th graders are investigating technology evolution through time, with teams researching how cars and phones have transformed through decades of innovation. Students are utilizing Canva to create compelling visual presentations of their findings.
Across all projects, students are utilizing our 3D printers to develop accurate prototypes, bringing their ideas from digital designs to tangible models they can test and refine.
STEM Week continues with a glimpse into our Manufacturing & Engineering course, where students are tackling their first major project of the Spring semester - handcrafted Adirondack chairs.
Working collaboratively in groups, the students design and construct two Adirondack chairs from scratch. This comprehensive 5-6 week project guides them through the entire manufacturing process from initial blueprints to finished product.
Students apply precise measurements, practice proper tool usage, implement safety protocols, and gain hands-on experience with woodworking techniques. Beyond technical skills, they develop teamwork, project management, and problem-solving abilities that translate to real-world applications.

Our district-wide STEM Week celebration has officially begun. Throughout this week, we'll showcase some amazing work happening in our STEM classrooms.
Today's highlight comes from our High School, where Ms. Kelly's Game Design II course students have completed their first 3D games using Unity!
In "Cube Highway," players navigate obstacles that spawn towards them - dodge successfully or face a dramatic GAME OVER explosion. These talented students have applied complex coding concepts using C#, worked in 3D space, implemented variable tracking for features like "Time Survived," designed camera angles, created particle effects, and much more.
Currently, they're each adding a unique feature to their games before advancing to their next major project.
This is just one example of the innovative STEM education happening in our schools. Stay tuned all week as we feature more incredible student projects and learning experiences!
Hatboro-Horsham High School Senior Annie Jia had a record-breaking weekend at the 2025 PIAA 3A State Swimming Championships, bringing home FOUR GOLD MEDALS and setting THREE NEW STATE RECORDS!
Annie's phenomenal achievements:
👑 200 IM Champion - 1:58.44
👑 100 Butterfly Champion - 50.65 (PIAA RECORD, improving on her own record from last year!)
👑 200 Freestyle Relay Champion - As the lead-off swimmer, Annie broke the 50 Free record with a blazing 22.23!
👑 400 Freestyle Relay Champion - Annie broke the 100 Free record with an incredible 48.27 as the lead-off swimmer!
Our Hatboro-Horsham relay teams also dominated:
200 Freestyle Relay - STATE CHAMPIONS with a PIAA RECORD time of 1:32.99!
400 Freestyle Relay - STATE CHAMPIONS with a PIAA RECORD time of 3:23.29!
Both record-breaking relay teams featured the incredible lineup of Junior Megan Luddecke, Senior Sarah Parker, Senior Emmy Erikson, and Senior Annie Jia.
Additional congratulations to Sarah Parker (3rd place, 50 Freestyle) and Emmy Erikson (4th place, 200 Freestyle) for their outstanding performances!
Blair Mill Elementary was buzzing with activity this week!
The Spring Celebration with Multilingual Families united the community to share cultures and traditions. The event highlighted the rich diversity that makes Blair Mill such a special place.
Wellness Night was equally impressive! Families participated in health-focused activities, learning about nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being. The energy and engagement from everyone in attendance created an informative and fun atmosphere.
What an incredible evening at All Band Night yesterday! We were thrilled to see such a packed house as our community came together to celebrate the musical talents of our students.

Simmons 5th graders, led by Assistant Principal Dr. González, delivered donations to local food pantries last week, capping off the all school food drive with an incredible 2,865+ items collected!
Students visited Lehman's Food Pantry on Thursday and the Hatboro Community Cupboard on Friday, sharing the generous donations from the school community. This annual tradition teaches students the value of giving back!

🎵 Music Magic in the Nation's Capital! 🇺🇸
The Hatboro-Horsham High School Music Department just returned from an incredible three-day educational tour of Washington, DC! The talented students embarked on an unforgettable journey of musical growth and cultural exploration. Throughout their trip, students immersed themselves in professional music clinics led by college-level professors, experienced the magic of a breathtaking National Symphony Orchestra concert, explored the rich collections of multiple Smithsonian museums, and paid tribute to our nation's history by visiting iconic memorials and monuments.
A huge THANK YOU to the amazing music students, families, faculty, chaperones, and administration for making this transformative experience possible!

The HHHS Muslim Student Cultural Association fundraiser for Islamic Relief USA was an incredible success! 🧸❤️ Their emotional support plushies sold out in just TWO DAYS during lunch and learn.
A special shoutout to Club President Yasmeen Elsabbagh and Vice President Azariah Reavis for their outstanding leadership. These dynamic student leaders worked tirelessly to brainstorm creative fundraising ideas, engage club members in decision-making, secure necessary approvals, and brilliantly organize the event.
